The successful candidate for one of two Surface Water Quality vacancies will assist with protecting South Dakota’s water quality by inspecting permitted Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations. The successful candidate for the other Surface Water Quality vacancy will ensure protection of the state’s surface water quality by implementing the state’s permitting programs, modeling water quality to develop total maximum daily loads, and conducting inspections of permitted facilities. The successful candidate for the Air Quality vacancy will assist in protecting South Dakota’s air quality by writing permits and ensuring permitted facilities are being built and operating in accordance with state and federal requirements. The successful candidate for the Drinking Water vacancy will assist with protecting South Dakota’s drinking water quality by implementing the Lead and Copper Rule and ensuring regulated facilities are complying with the Safe Drinking Water Act. The successful candidate for the Water Rights vacancy will assist in implementing South Dakota’s water right permitting by investigating state water resources, inspecting existing permits to ensure compliance with permit conditions, and investigating water management complaints.
